Removals around Catford — home to the giant fibreglass cat that's watched over the town centre since 1974.
The Catford Cat — a huge black-and-white sculpture reaching down to paw at the Catford Centre sign — has sat above the town centre since the shopping mall opened in 1974, designed by the Brutalist architects Owen Luder and Rodney Gordon. It's survived more than one demolition threat over the decades (locals successfully petitioned to save it as recently as 2017) and has become the one landmark most people instantly associate with Catford.
Around it, Catford is Lewisham's other major town centre alongside Lewisham itself — the Broadway shopping area, Catford station and Catford Bridge station sit close together, with the busy South Circular Road (A205) running straight through. Transport for London has proposed realigning the South Circular through the town centre as part of wider regeneration plans, which means the road layout here has genuinely been under active discussion rather than fixed for decades. Housing is a mix of terraced streets, ex-council blocks, and flats above the shops along the main roads — and part of the Corbett Estate, the Edwardian development that also covers neighbouring Hither Green, reaches into Catford's residential streets too.
Because the South Circular carries a lot of through-traffic, side-street access and loading is usually the better option for a move here rather than trying to stop on the main road itself.
Streets just off the South Circular tend to be quieter and easier for loading than the main road itself — tell us your exact address and we'll plan the best access point.

In parts, yes — the Corbett Estate, the Edwardian development built around Hither Green station, also spreads into Catford's residential streets, alongside the separate terraced and ex-council housing closer to the town centre itself.
